Beautiful winter morning on a tranquil Lough Erne

Welcome to Yoga with Rosetta

Yoga and meditation have been part of my life for over 15 years and it was a natural progression to move deeper into the practice and study of yoga which led me to train as a yoga teacher. I gained certification with Yoga Alliance Professionals at the 200 hour level in 2023.

I have felt both the physical and mental/emotional benefits of yoga and quickly learned that to maintain these benefits yoga needed to become a part of my daily life.

I am passionate about sharing the real benefits of yoga that I have experienced with others in my community. My aim is to deliver high-quality yoga classes that fuse ancient wisdom with modern insight.

What is Yoga?

Yoga: ‘Unity’ or ‘oneness’, derived from the Sanskrit word yuj which means ‘to join’.

Yoga has many definitions, but one that resonates for me is: "yoga is a means of balancing and harmonizing the body, mind and emotions" - Swami Satyananda Saraswati.

Yoga is about connecting to our breath to become fully present and awake to our present moment, to minimize the chatter of the mind and attain more focus. Whether this is through mindful movement or being present in stillness the goal remains the same.

Hatha yoga is the yoga of physical discipline and is the most common type of yoga practised in the western word, with many different styles. ‘Hatha’ is derived from the Sanskrit words for sun (ha) and moon (tha). The practice of hatha yoga balances the opposites within us. Hatha yoga has many benefits, it allows us to build strength in our bodies and our minds, reduces stress and anxiety and lowers blood pressure to name just a few.
